Deionization (DI) Systems
DI and demineralization plants use ion-exchange resin to take out dissolved minerals and produce very pure water.
Overview
The resin swaps the minerals in the water for hydrogen and hydroxide, which simply become water. Depending on how pure the water needs to be, we use separate cation and anion columns, mixed-bed units, or polish water that has already been through RO.
DI water is used wherever minerals would harm a product, a process or a piece of equipment.
