Sea water is very salty, so it needs much higher pressure than bore water. Seawater RO plants use special seawater membranes, strong high-pressure pumps and good pretreatment so they can run continuously.
Electricity is the biggest running cost in a desalination plant. That is why we focus on energy recovery and energy-efficient equipment, so the plant costs less to run every year.
